You can see Roam and Kinopio tags in use, in different colors here:

Right now I use

Roam
has a public notebook.

I don’t expect this same functionality from

Kinopio
because of how different the structure it’s built on is.

This is an example Tag Space based on my

2020
tag.

(Not sure what your visibility is to the places the Tag shows up...)

With Roam I have two separate databases that can’t be linked together.

(Side-note: been struggling a lot with Tag colors reverting back to my color vs the color I changed them too....) Roam elsewhere is still a light blue in other spaces, but those tags don’t link to this one...

And then there’s the fact that Public and Private spaces can still link together here so I could have Daily Work Journals (private), Daily Public Journals, and Daily Private Journals, link between them all and other spaces while keeping private stuff private.

So my Public Notebook link could be the

Journal
page on
Kinopio
and then people would be one click away from today’s page, without me having to manually keep the page up-to-date or readers having to learn to use the Tag button on the bottom.

But a space like this, with a Persistent Tag Card could list out all my

Journal
pages and be easy to find // navigate.

What’s great is, the main link always sends you to the Daily Notes page where you can always see Today’s notes right at the top, like a blog.

Spinning my wheels some more (sorry, just having fun thinking about this...)

Less important, less fleshed out stuff over here...

Although, if /journal link is possible....

The only other things I can think of to give me my ideal set-up are here:

I love the Tag Space stuff, especially if the Persistent Tag Card is possible and can be automated with the Space creation.

Would need to figure out MAX and MIN heights for the card and allow scrolling.

Imagine this is a card that can be interacted with and always open.

For this example, I have my

2020
Persistent Tag Card (above) that I can interact with, but I can also write notes about 2020 anywhere in the Space, if I have something to say, but don’t necessarily think it fits in an existing Space or warrants it’s own Space.

Another benefit is the Space title doesn’t necessarily need to exactly match the Tag that I end up having a Persistent Tag Card for.

Maybe I have a space that I want to have multiple Persistent Tag Cards on various topics.

The benefit to focusing on the Card over the Space is the idea that I could use these cards anywhere.

Tags are more fun because of the color though.

Persistent Tag Card

(I think the Link part is less important, but if making one makes the other easier, than I don’t think it would hurt...)

Since 2020 is now a space too, there’s a redundancy in functionality and probably a confusion of “do I tag

2020
or do I link to the space itself” if I would be able to have a Persistent Link Card as well...

I’m still thinking through how a Persistent Tag Card would be different than a potential Persistent Link Card.

As I’ve brainstormed on the idea a bit more, my focus has shifted away from the Space itself and more on the ability to have a Persistent Tag Card, which displays the various places the tag is used.
