A built in text editor idea for Kinopio

Kinopio
Feature Request
2022

The idea here is, when you drop in a txt file, to have a simple way to edit it without having to download, open in a text editor, and then reupload to Kinopio.

Once the editor is built, you could probably have a way to create a txt file directly in Kinopio too.

I wouldn’t expect how txt files show today (maybe a preview of the first 300 characters though…). The idea is just being able to open the file in a little card-like window to edit and save.

Option 1: Link (No Preview)

Option 2: Link and Preview

End goal is to be able to do brainstorming and lightweight long from writing all in the same place.

this is a preview of the editor being opened from a link—it does not stay open as a card or image in the space

This is just a screen shot of iA Writer. Visually, I would make the text editor look basically identical to a card, replacing the buttons in the top bar with the same buttons in a card.

Images, when uploaded through the flower button, should be formatted as markdown links to the location link Kinopio generates at upload: ![](kinopioimageurl)
