My anti-recommendation is to not stay in downtown sd, it’s really bad

ocean beach is a lovely neighborhood and I like dog beach

hilcrest is a v cool area too , we had an Airbnb there for a little while during covid and it was tight

Bird Rock Coffee was legit

Sea World: the orca show made it worth it

Driving down from North Bay should be about 8hrs.

Stopping in Ojai the first night to cut the drive in half and have time to explore Ojai a little bit.
