So I was thinking about the above stack gif and my and thought they might work well together.

A requested feature by 4+ ppl, is to be able to define a group of cards to be able to move together

The interaction with mouse is important here too. Being able to recognize reordering as you click+hold+drag up and down and also being able to indent / outdent with a click+hold+drag left and right.

The idea being, once you have a Stack established, any enter creates a new card within the stack, which can be tabbed (indented) out like an outline (or tabbed back in). All still within the stack.

This image is rough and it’d probably be super complicated to get the parent/indentation right, but if you could make stacks and have some outline-like interactions, it would be killer.

an informal , optional convention. but if you’re gonna use a name for every group. And that name is gonna be short (<40 characters), then it makes sense to consider building group name functionality

Hitting enter will make a new card in the stack

Dragging the top card moves the whole thing

you can drag cards out of a stack and drag them in at any point

I think this use case might be better as seperate linked spaces too? (breaking them up maybe later on)

this works better with the box design. You could create a rectangle area with two cards and then put everything for that topic in that rectangle. if you wanted, after the fact you could formally add those contained cards to the group later on

This design is not as visually ‘I’m in a group’ looking. it only hints at a relationship. But this is more flexible for cards not located near each other
