It works on iPhone, iPad, and Windows, even offline – the sync is seamless, the freedom is total, and the whole experience feels alive. I finally got the chance to use lines to organize my weekly planner. I only bust the planner board out when Things doesn’t cut it for my crazy end-of-semester and I need everything laid out visually. The verdict is: lines are sick! It’s super easy to expand and contract sections, and unlike boxes I get the freedom to expand my day plan horizontally as much as I want. It’s a great example of why I enjoy Piri’s taste in UI and interaction design.

Kinopio is great at it’s simplicity in UX and use, yet powerful enough to put everything you wanted on the board. I especially like that you can multi-connect cards, kind of small but useful feature not common in mind-mapping software.

It’s extremely better than anyone else. ... You can focus on what you’re doing instead of organizing what you’re doing. What I find it does for me is it helps me find inefficiencies while also giving me the big picture view of how everything relates. You can do this in any other platform sure, but not with the ease that you can with kinopio.club. So really I give it five stars, because you can’t get this level of UI/UX in any other code diagramming solution that I can find.

The mobile web app is actually pretty darn good as well. Most web apps don’t seem to work well, but this one does. It feels native when using it for the most part.

I used to be a Milanote user, but ever since I discovered Kinopio, I’ve been hooked. I’m drawn to its freedom, creativity, and meme-y vibe—it just clicks with my brain. I’m planning to gradually transition to using it as my all-in-one tool. - zimon3d

im a student and have started doing some organizing; i use kinopio for moodboarding/journaling about my racial justice/antiracism work and my other main projects are star trek related; mapping out the evolution of cardassians and also creating a conlang for standard i do a lot of clipping to the inbox from wikipedia articles and have been looking at a lot of dinosaur among other ancient animals for my cardassians project ^^ i still feel like i am learn the rhythm of kinopio, but i find it very fun! oh gosh how i found kinopio... i think it might’ve been on the app store? i was looking for a note taking app with mind-mapping capabilities and the icon was so cute i downloaded kinopio right away! i enjoy how playful it is upon first entry with how the basics are explained i haven’t really used community features yet but maybe soon ^^ - ljr discord

just wanted to say thanks for such a cool app. I was in a long hunt for apps to remake my PKMS and try to ditch Notion. everything is so businessy and clunky, I was giving up, but I’m happy I didn’t and found Kinopio!! the character and mood are just RIGHT on my alley and that’s what I want with software I use: opinionated and gimmicky, not bland and generic. it’s the kind of app I actually feel good in paying because I know it will go to passionated devs and not massive corporations I just really fell in love and I hope my journey with Kinopio will be long. mateuswsouza

I wanted to reach out and say hello. I’m Kurt. I hail from Pennsylvania, US. I found kinopio recently and am blown away really. I assume you’re building this yourself, which is just really amazing. My use case is what you described in your recent blog post. I code (mostly in an obscure language called pinescript, which is native to the tradingview.com platform) and I tried everything to mind map and code diagram and it was just tedious, slow, and wasteful. This has been a godsend. I took a 2000 line script and I think I am on the way to cutting the total lines in half with the efficiencies I’m finding by mapping out the original. - kurt smock

I think you’re on to something with lo-fi. Kinopio has soft edges (if I may say so), that leave room for ideas to meet, without forcing the serendipity of this connection through artificial constraints, or some bullshit productivist methodology. The fact that Kinopio is the only productivity tool I use says it all: maybe it’s not for content creation stakhanovites who only like to tick off items on their to-do list. Its design is more relaxed and helps to bring up incidental ideas that might otherwise have escaped us. In short, idk 🙂 - thibault malfoy
