Why not use Kinopio/Discord how + Official app for character gen for minimal overhead.

Only used for battle maps... character gen? but then what is the point

To use Foundry for play-by-post (PbP), set up a self-hosted server and use its built-in tools for asynchronous gameplay, managing scenes, and character tracking.

Can I go budget or bite the bullet and invest in a VPS

Goal: after one-shot has a round; I may upgrade using funds from TTRPG
