cons: - $10 for life (could be a pro i just don’t know if i want to pay) - no cross connections - super linear

pros: - phone app - integration

been testing this out but doesn’t really allow for cross connecting entries which has been a big problem... will probably just use this to organize my tweets

this is also seems like a self-hosted version of notion

cons: - i want more options with customizing my workspace - not social enough, i have to publish a whole website if i want to share publicly

pros: - kind of the perfect medium of long form text and organization

i actually do have a notion workspace i really like

cons: - not great for long form text - don’t see myself visiting it daily

pros: - i love being able to connect my thoughts visually

obviously i’m using this one right now and while i love it i don’t think it’s ideal for long form text

this one seems pretty promising, it’s quite fluid in that it’s meant to be more journal like rather than formal, fully thought out blog posts

finally a website generator that isn’t boring as fuck, i’m tired of every website looking the same

i want to start using this one since i’m on so many different platforms but i think the fact that i am using so many platforms makes this a little overwhelming

this is literally like scrollable zines, it’s so cool and i’m glad it has kicks’ aesthetic bc i really like it

i got access to the beta for this and i love it, i want to start doing meetings and such with friends on here

but most blogging platforms have a lot of problems for me:

i want to document all the things i have learned publicly for my own sake and for others to see

one of the few platforms i use healthily and consistently is are.na. why?

but it’s not ideal for long form writing or writing in general, formatting is limited and text wise it’s still quite linear

cons: - paid for over 50 entries ($60/yr)

pros: - active community - pretty simple to use - because it’s journal based there’s more motivation to use regularly

solutions:

- it’s not too much work that it becomes boring - i enjoy the content - it’s simple enough

- i forget to write consistently - it becomes too much work - most platforms i’ve found are too confusing or too linear, does not align with the way that i think

the problem:
