The only detractor I have for We Are Lady Parts is each season is only six episodes. There is so much great stuff happening here and getting to see these characters live life and make (some killer) music is a blast.

I don’t really know why I loved this as much as I did. It’s a nice, thoughtful, touching story, but it’s truly a showcase for Ewan McGregor. I think I just adored getting to watch him bask in this role. He is absolutely fantastic and should win an Emmy for his performance.

And lastly, I had to mention Fantasmas because it’s just so weird. I created a whole space dedicated to some of the imagery from E1 and can’t wait to watch the rest of this season. It’s not for everyone, but if you like weird and surreal, you’ll like this.

If you read foofaraw you probably already know about a lot of these, but since I don’t spend time looking back, I wanted to gush over some shows that I feel are overlooked.

And this one was especially great as he gushes over the music he’s been digging recently. Plus his “routine” around digging for new music and intentionally listening really jived with me.

It’s basically just that, an hour long radio show where he DJs and plays through a set of music. Something about bringing that as a podcast/video show feel to a show just feels right. A great way to bring that old-school radio feel to the modern age a la NTS.
