Foofaraw games 😺??? :)
Be down for it
What is the general geography like (mountains, forests, deserts, oceans)?
What is the climate like in this region we’re in

Let’s start with questions

What does the political system look like?
Is this a human society or something different?
What is the Calendar like - monthly events, rituals, celebrations
I’m not super familiar with Darksouls, but the idea of world/story/lore building in small breadcrumbs is exactly what I was thinking with the card idea.
What are the different factions?
Alright... I’m going to take this a little further...

The go to would be human. Just so there is a reflection element. They don’t have to primary in the society though. I kind of like having two types of species co-exisiting; for the moment. Then introduction of others when we explore more.
I’m thinking of getting inspo from both Hearthstone/MtG and Tarot Cards here
Ohhhh forgot it changed! okay will do
We are looking at one huge mountainous region—it’s the only habitable place on the entire planet, but it’s quite large.
Like, we tell the story through “card packs” (aka volumes), each containing 7(?) cards.
I do lean on Darksouls like storytelling and lorebuilding. Small abstract breadcrumbs, enough to expand or misinterpret.
And then we can publish a pack on foofaraw either all at once or one card at time. And do a small print run of them too.
People live up in the mountains. The lower you get, the harsher the conditions. The higher, the more temperate, where people live a life of luxury.

Vibe. Yeah I can already picture what the condition are. Perhaps the lower levels would have sought after materials and plant life Due to untouched terrain, the potency of their properties are useful in the society

I’m picturing a faction that sits between the harsh and livable society; a little wild but with order. Mad max - Outlaws - Freedom This are has some sort of agreement. parts of this area would also have a spot that has been secured by a higher society for their “safe travels”
Given the size of the mountain range, there are different factions and even different political systems as it’s broken into different states/countries/w.e.

Oh you must read some, the way it’s structured is top stuff. Wither it’s written in a way due to the nature of translation or language ; the abstraction is somewhat a masterclass. simple, yet has a lot of weight to it. By design??? it just works.
Though it is a touchstone of many lore/worldbuilding/game designers; but still a cool.
There are some people who live amongst the land, but not much is known about them or how they survive.
Thinking about this after watching Scavengers Reign

Nice, will read through these. Any sites or stuff that includes some darksouls storytelling?
Nobility
Edge Riders —the ones between the harsh and livable society.
Plants — lower level faction that oversees plant life and materials
Warring Faction
Some sort of peasants
I’ve got an idea you and Dávid (and maybe others) might be interested in...
There is a huge community explaining Darksouls lore like VaatiVidya - Not sure how it is if you haven’t played it; but a few videos explaining bits of lore is interesting though.
After we flesh out the world a bit... we use cards (like Magic The Gathering) to tell a story. So we design a base card format, then get people to do art, and have some accompanying text and stats....
The Souls guide site will have descriptors if ou click on an item;
I can get them printed pretty cheaply the same way I am doing for foofaraw.
The Mountain Range
The Wasteland
Immortan Joe type guy who leads the faction between the land and the livable mountain range—he’s pretty dumb, but some of the higher up factions make sure he stays in power because the chaos he causes is good for their pocket books and ensures their safe travel. — he hates the woman leader of the plant faction.

As you go up the mountain, you get wealthier, but I’m also thinking this mountain range is huge so one area could be vastly different than another so this is where like different countries all with their own hierarchy could come into play.
A woman leader of one of the factions at the lower level—focus on the plant life that they watch over. Kind of hippy-like; one with nature; caring; but still not super well off as they get taken advantage of by the higher society.
Some sort of mutated of a human that lives all the way in the harsh unlivable land—this should be drawn in a way that’s hard to see or make out detail like a monster in a horror movie that’s only seen through shadows.

Travel between these areas isn’t easy, but different areas have better access to certain minerals and food, some of which are more desirable than others.
Some sort of relic that is a legend amongst people but never seen in person. A stone (diamond/ruby/etc.)? Weapon?
A temple at the top of the highest mountain in the mountain range —
Club Soda + Abstract Tears Comic Ideas
Formats:
1. Doing something for the world we started building above
2. Doing an abstract, surreal, psychadellic super hero thing
3. Or... is there anything specific you are wanting to draw? i.e. fantasy, scifi, western, etc.?
3 grid strip
Tone:
2x2 grid
Full page (vertical)
Half page (horizontal)
We could tie it in somehow - maybe shape what we have into MacGuffins or another realm to place that as a pin for “a world” within the story
Comedy
I dig abstract surreal. haha also superheroes!
3 strips sounds interesting. Small stakes but also options for a landscape view. or portrait or... rotates per submission; just because.
I really don’t know where to start.
Survival
Drama
Horror
Maybe we go, or I go with the first thing I’m gravitating towards.
I’m interested and have been interested in Biomech stuff. Something about Akira and episodes of Scavenger Reign really appeals to me.

Ep 07 The Cure
Ep 08 The Nest
Ep 09 The mountain
✨ pure magic

A world where nature adapts fast enough, that technology is a secondary aspect of the world. It gets superseded.

Like scenes of Zombie movies/films - where structure and nature overgrows.

But by world design, nature is like a virus like element. It will fuse/adapt to anything foreign.

Which in this case, breeds ground level super heros/villians.
Or could be more survival; a slice of life in the alien world.

Sci-fi has been done to bits, but open to go down this route for it.

I do wanna see what’s it like for Western style; alien world - low-ish tech but super nature-core; tribalism tech leaning. Ghosts/Spirits/Charms/Tailsman

What about the above, but its a mundane office environment, day to day is using fusing alien like things.
