August
a spatial chat among internet friends
Iām following this twitter train wreck closer than I ought
Whatās new homie?
Not much really - been sending out resumes like crazy lately. Current job is just mind numbing and donāt know how much longer I can do it without boring myself to death at this pointā¦ š
I hear about stuff happening at twitter but donāt pay much attention. Tried to use twitter a bit more with my newsletter, but just didnāt feel like I needed it in my life.
!!
How might we use boxes to enhance chat?
When I saw this in e-mail (before opening to see the August box) my first thoughts were time based and then potentially topic based.
In the way that one can kind of go on tangents, being able to have a conversation going across multiple topics at the same time spatially feels very āKinopioā to me.
Threw a huge box around the bottom archive to see what that would be likeā¦ Also made me think about how you presented in Kinopio - would be cool if there were a way to navigate across boxes similar to tags, essentially boxes could become your slides and some way to hop to the next oneā¦
Have a lot of time to kill right now so I figured Iād try to clean this space up a bit so we have some room again. Split the old stuff into #2021 section below. (Donāt know if it was all 2021 š¤·āāļø). Itās really cool to use the minimap on this space and I was surprised how easily everything
ā¤ļø, wow yeah the minimap is so cool with all these cards
Ah bummer, I didnāt see the notification for this because it was buried under the workspace notifications.
IDK how you feel, but I think I actually prefer this to the discord and miss out asynchronous (in)frequent chats.
Did you ever end up picking up any comics?

2021
Hi there, again, congratulations on your marriage :) good to see you posting and all again. what else is new?
Got your email. Wait, was Weekly Variable supposed to be weekly lol?
Donāt know if you noticed but Iāve tried moving away from Roam and into Kinopio again for my daily notes... donāt know if it will stick this time, but Iām enjoying it so far.
Hey! Thanks, it was tons of fun but itās nice to be back at my normal routine again after having basically no structure in my life for a good two weeks. Not much else new. Interviewing at Expedia is still progressing. Hoping to hear back about a final (?) panel interview soon.
Hey! Yeah it has been awhile.
no good guesses thereā¦I stay on top of any changes he makes to his life tasks or roadmap, but maybe if heās keeping it secret, he wouldnāt put it on there. but he says itās been asked before too, so pretty sure we collectively know about it ;)
QQ: curious if you think if it would be possible to create a script that essentially does this:
yes, this script is straightforward. yes, you would need the space id of where you want the cards to go.
Whatās good, havenāt chatted in a while :)
Awesome. Iām thinking handling through my blogging workflow with drafts might be better anyways, but good to know this is possible. Thanks!
when run, it pulls all posts from an rss feed for that day, and then creates cards in the current space for each.
Expedia news?
Initial roadblocks I can think of:
No dice, unfortunatelyā¦
Any guesses on what you think
Hey! This is awesome.
Use case: I want my Kinopio journals to be a full record of my day. So Iām trying to think of an easy way to pull everything from my blog in a given day into Kinopio.
Weād have to come up with a scheme on how to handle longer posts, titles. Not too hard.
bummer
Using the Daily Journal, needing to know the space id.
Donāt even know how to start now...
Didnāt get an email or notification here when you addedā¦ weirdā¦
I want to see how well this works as a form of communication. I wonder what conventions will emerge as this conversation continues. How well do the notifications work? How easy is it to keep track of where the open questions are or what to respond to? When do we use connections?
Notifications also seem to work pretty well so far for me.
Posts that are longer than a card limit or that have titles.
Even better would be multiple RSS feeds so I could pull in FL stuff too.
Very cool. More like this please <smile>
Connections will probably become useful if things split out into multiple topics at once, which could be interesting.
To get slightly away from the meta talk, I noticed this: Curious about your guitar experience.
Yeah, I was thinking of trying to mess a bit with the down and to the right, just cause š¤·āāļø although itās going to be a bit of a natural flow, just because we start in the top left.
Umm, was it the moon filter feature??
Thatās what I was thinking as well. Was secretly hoping it was some sort of Grouping feature but that was probably too big of an undertaking if he was hoping to launch on PH soon.
Do you use the journal function at all on Kinopio?
Questions/thoughts/potential topics
yeah, scrapchats tend to go down and slightly right, which is understandable. an interesting aesthetic nonetheless.
no, for some reason I aspire to be a daily journaler, but nothing sticks. Iāve tried it all ĀÆ\(ć)/ĀÆ
using comments
is nice because it shows author, but maybe unnecessary for 1:1 chat? Iāve also used a tag before
While we are on the subject though, curious on your opinion for
Drums for me. Iāve taken guitar lessons and can play some simple stuff from tabs and a still remember a few chords, but played drums for about the same time frame, but was pretty lazy about it and wasnāt a fan of having to do āpercussionā in the school band.
Also, any idea what āNew bks pro dot
Thanks for setting a sweet background!
I canāt remember if this was you or Vin, but do you still do like a general/weekly/monthly catch-all kind of space?
I get your point and was thinking about this too when we started. I like the visual indicator for some reason. Tags would work too though. Not a big deal either way. I think having something will make it a little easier to look back and read through like a conversation and pick back up š¤·āāļø
After you were in there I actually went and flipped it, so December on top, January on the bottom.
Drums are cool. My son (4 y/o) loves drums, he has a kid set. I wish I could play a little, maybe I will eventually pick it up.
no, I have pondered that myself, tried some searches. I thought it might refer to a typeface? but didnāt find anything lol
I def did that for a few weeks, but have since stopped :)
I feel like this would be more useful (both for myself and others), but would love an outside perspective.
Found it in the are.na search.
š¤¦āāļø I guess keeping the search/filter ā1ā on does this too... and I kind of like that better... thoughts...?
another guess: bks = backgrounds. pro dot is a name for one?
I mean if you play guitar the hands should be easy to transition to drums. And if you are the type of person who taps their foot to the beat while playing you are 3/4 of the way there.
Yeah, I feel like I have to have at least a little bit of an intention when I come to Kinopio vs just coming in to throw down things in a general catch-all.
yes lol :) that makes more sense. it frees up comments to have a different meaning, too.
Reverse-chronological makes more sense, I like having most recent on top. I run into this issue a lot, it seems like a theme. A document is designed to be written top-down, but for a lot of cases, it is nice to have most recent on top. How to deal with that?
+1
Could be... Has he updated the backspace / delete? Could just be something like bks = backspace...? Probably putting too much thought into it at this point...
Something for
pondering: kinda wish reactions were built-in, rather than creating a card with a šš».
Canāt give a lesson here obviously, BUT itās pretty simple if framed in 8 eighth notes:
On this front, maybe logseq/roam daily notes could stick. have you heard of mem.ai?
Pair the left leg with the left hand any you get to 4/4.
š because Iām a little crazy, Iām gonna clean up some of the comment formatting later today.
intentionality is š
š I think the select all below control makes it pretty easy to manage, at least for how Iām set-up now.
Right hand plays on every count, 1-8.
š (š)
Thatās exactly the power of Roam/Logseq for me. A place I can throw anything into easily and still get it easily structured. Here itās possible to get everything out easily, but you need to know the purpose ahead of time.
I have. I got an invite a month ago. Donāt actually remember if I made an account though. It was around the time I got a bit burnt out and left the internet.
Right foot plays every other count. 1, 3, 5, 7.
One goal of a scrapchat session might be a space where a third-party could read and follow all the various conversations. For example, a lot of this meta-discussion would be great context for feature requests we might make, and for
Got my shirt designs approved on Cotton Bureau. Donāt know if you reaching out first had anything to do with it, but I appreciate both the suggestion and you reaching out because I probably wouldnāt have done it otherwise. Now I have a way to get myself shirts with my designs. š
an easier way to see what the new cards are (read/unread state), a way to mark as read? eh, not sure.
šš»
Yeah, I tend to select all, then make minor adjustments after that
Wow congrats! Youāre in good company then, they reject most designs ;)
Left hand and left foot play on 3 and 7.
Crap! Just realized Iām making your notes mine.... š¤¦āāļø
Yeah, a visual indicator of things you havenāt seen logged in would be perfect. Maybe a little glow behind the card would work.
Yes, you can move and copy to other spaces, but itās a bit cumbersome, especially if your thoughts are scattered around (which is the strength of Kinopio) and you want to try to bring just certain ones, which could have others in between.
re: burnout šš»
Are you gonna publicize? announce in newsletter?
I feel that, mem.ai checks all the criteria (quick access, automation/API, notes viewed in timeline & other ways of recall) I think I have in theory, but just canāt get myself to use it.
If you can do that, you can play the drums.
I should give mem a real try though and report back in my Digital Tools journal.
Planning to come back to this.
the list of cards under the search dialog serves this, but itās nice to see the cards in context. btw, are you experiencing this bug at all?
LOLLLL yeah lolzzz
Yeah, my thought all along is to eventually make it public. Like the idea of having it private for a bit as we figure out and in case we want to refine / remove anything at some point.
nice, whatās the next step? I can do a basic rock beat. are there any other fundamentals worth investing in? a drum pad? or can I get far enough with bad technique. (I know you canāt answer that without knowing my goals...)
hey this is a large part of what weāre trying to discover with this space :)
Yeah, I threw it on FL, Instagram, and Glass. Going to post to my blog quickly as well as write up the process. And then eventually get to the newsletter.
nice, youāre on Glass huh? in terms of CB, seems like a good arrangement because youāll make money if someone buys, and if not, thatās fine
Burnout probably isnāt the right word. It was just a weird transition after being out of work so long. A lot of my attention went to the internet. And once I started working again I had no idea how to actually work and do things outside of work at the same time anymore.
šāāļø I wanna try ;)
my instinct is to DM you because I am not confident you will definitely see cards I write to you. Resisting that urge to keep pushing this medium, just saying.
yep, my experience/sense, too. thatās one reason I was sorta wanting āgroupingā and/or ability to make a tighter list. but maybe itās trying to make Kinopio do what itās not designed to do (whatās an idiom for that?)
It very much gave me vibes of Microsoft making Roam for Office, but while apeing Googleās design.
But a fully public one is also an option. Itād be interesting to see how the output might differ starting from that point.
I have had various issues with it. And while (when working) it helps see the order, it still doesnāt really have a visual indicator for āthis is new since the last time you were hereā - which I think would be a benefit for this type of thing, which may be too small of a use case to be useful.
Drum pads are great for really getting fundamentals // snare skills down and being quiet. You can do the same on basically any drum though.
Thatās why I built that. Gonna make a copy and add you as a collaborator. Youāre my guinea pig.
šš»
š±
Yeah, I think thatās why the down and to the left is useful because it has that visual indicator of where things were left off and going. Harder when it breaks up into multiple topics though.
Yeah, I probably wonāt stick with Glass. But for CB, yeah, my main goal was just to have a way to buy a nice shirt with my own designs. If anyone else actually buys one, itās a cherry on top.
In terms of the payment arrangement, you choose how much $$$ you want to make per shirt and itās tacked on to their price, essentially. So I chose $6, which brings a t-shirt to $30. If I were to choose $5, the shirt would be $29.
I still really loved the snap to list animation someone had added to the space where Pirijan was working through ideas.
A jazz beat and paradiddles are the two things Iād focus on after a rock beat. And getting funky with the rock beat too - adding a snare between the 4th and 5th eighth note is a really popular and relatively simple addition to get a good groove that can be expanded in a bunch of different ways.
very cool, I never looked into what the CB arrangement was (my brother even worked there for a bit). Do you take photos? Iāve been recently re-discovering/enjoying using my Fuji X100T. I am very much a hobbyist/amateur.
Invite to space:
Coming back to this space after a day, itās a bit hard to get oriented (finding the threads, seeing if there are things to respond to).
Although I think thatās almost a separate feature from the Groups, which Iād also still like to see in some form or fashion.
i watched this lol
The notifications in the top right handle it a little better, IMO.
The upper right is across spaces, right? it doesnāt have timestamps, which makes it less useful.
!!! I love my X100T. I wrote about it a few years ago: https://www.bentsai.org/posts/2017-02-22-things-i-really-like-fujifilm-x100t/
I used to. I have a Fuji X100(something) as well. I love taking photos, but just next remember to bring the camera anywhere or remember to use my phone when Iām out.
Ahhh this is so great. Wish I wouldāve taken this approach back then. Mine never got great (laziness) but I had a grasp on it to be able to utilize it elsewhere. Learning these types of patterns, and others are really key.
this space kinda reminds me of back in the 2000s when Gmail first came out and my friends started a long email thread. It eventually became unusable :) :)
Correct. But to see the
How would you like to be called?
Yeah, I think thereās definitely a point where thereās just too much stuff and conversations need a fresh canvas.
It doesnāt seem to be refreshed in real-time (or close). I donāt see any of our recent cards there.
Would it be worth sharing this space with pirijan? So he can observe this kind of usage?
Iām sad you donāt even know which generation you have lol
Not to be creepy, but getting to see a list of your spaces that includes private ones here is fascinating.
Would love to get your thoughts on this space
ARCHIVE
Yeah, itās not perfect, but I kind of want a mix of the two? Or for the search to include the
Just checked, itās the S.
Either is fine. Donāt really have a preference. But you are correct, Kevin is my actual name.
Not creepy at all. I am also super fascinated by watching others work, how they set up their workspaces, what tools they use. :)
I know iPhones are amazing cameras and are only gonna get better, esp with computational stuff. but thereās something special about a tool specifically designed and (more) physical/tactile.
One convention I thought of, you can leave an unchecked todo that signals to the other people that this needs a response. Then others can hit 3
shortcut to see āuncheckedā cards.
Was wondering about publishing logseq (similar to your Roam wiki) and saw this posted today on Logseq discord https://github.com/logseq/publish
Itās probably a lot more complicated to build than it works in my head, but itād be so great to create outlines on the go in a live note-taking session while maintaining relationships and structure while creating free flowing notes.
š¦ ah, I just realized you removed my roll. I re-added it because I thought I was experiencing a bug :)
Curious if thereās an easy way to get a card count? Thatād be cool.
I think I get it. You want the ease that outliner software gives you to create hierarchies, esp with keyboard shortcuts.
Neat. I love the naming scheme they used: X100, then S, T, F, V. Thatās Second, Third, Fourth, V (5). Maybe that means V is the end, I read a rumor
And Iād probably say once something hits x cards, open up a new space and then add a link between each so you can still carry the thread back and forth.
šÆ
Haha yeah no biggie. Still trying to figure out how to handle things and make them clear. But once rolls are complete, they would get removed and then the Bird type is displayed.
Same with guitar pedals. I just got a digital multi-effects unit, and it does SO MUCH, but itās just not as fun to use as having individual single-serve pedalsā¦
This kinda mixes paradigms, but often Tab and Shift-Tab do indent and outdent. What if Shift-Tab were the shortcut to go back up a level?
Never connected the dots to the naming scheme before.
In the JS console, type:
document.querySelector("#app").__vue__.$store.state.cardMap.length
I canāt access https://roamresearch.com/#/app/Variably_Distressed anymore? It asks me to first sign in. (I linked from The Central Hub.
Yeah Roam handles this fine. Itās just line breaks within a single card that are a bit frustrating because thereās no way to tell those lines are in the same card vs being connected to the card...

Yeah exactly. Those are the shortcuts in Roam too. But since Kinopio has Shift + Enter already I tried to contact in he with that, which may be confusing.
right now, weāre around 90 :)
I only got to browse the space, I will read more and reply more.
This is why I wanted to the the
Ah thanks! I think itās the lack of capitalization.
Yup, thatās new. I think given the close relationship Obsidian and Logseq have had recently (a lot of people appear to be using both for the same file set) they wanted some feature parity. As a non-developer, Iām not a fan of the push/commit, but as the feature grows Iām sure itāll as easy as Roam.
Yeah, Iām a big proponent of dedicated/real tools/machines. Although I really want an electric drum set, as much fun as the physical things are, to be able to switch up the drum noises on the spot is magical.
I like it... but... if there are no unchecked there isnāt a way to know unless you look all around right? Maybe itās easier on desktop to tell right away, but just no on iPad I was looking all over for the non grayed out box.
Can you clarify what you are looking for in terms of exporting to Roam? I can help write a script to get it from the API in the right format
Fixed!
Weird that the capitalization messes it up completely...
And not a huge fan of having everything crossed out once itās been checked.. so thereās a step of removing the todo I guess?
itās very disconnected between seeing the card in the search and within context. It would be cool, but maybe too jarring, if hovering the search result would scroll the card into view.
So I donāt know how well you know people // their processes at Cotton Bureau, but I was thinking of asking my buddy to process the first image and clean it up to meet their technical requirements.
sweet, which kit? our church owns/uses Roland V-Drums (not sure which). itās p nice
I appreciate it, but not something to worry about. Donāt know how much and Iād actually use it. I couldnāt get your other script to work and I donāt want you to waste the time for something I might not even utilize. The current txt export gets me pretty close anyways.
Can we chat sometime (synchronous, perhaps audio/video/screenshare) about ? I want to see what youāre seeing in terms of using Kinopio as a roam replacement:)
FEATURE REQUEST
Throwing this here if we might want to start thinking about a public garden // July scrapchat.
(Thinking using checkboxes this way might work to bring attention to new cards without crossing out text in the boxes)
this feels like a slightly different case because the kit is still physical, but it enhances. but yes, I get that itās not acoustic so it wonāt feel the same.
And if the search works better and more reliable that would still point you in the right direction of where to look just as well as the checkbox wouldnāt it?

After doing a card search then clicking on a result, it is often hard to tell which card is opened. I think that needs to be more visually distinctive. e.g., see the attached image. Can you spot the card I clicked?
I donāt want to waste his time if the odds are pretty slim it would go through // be approved.
There is definitely still legwork to kind of catch up and orient yourself, but I donāt know that thereās a great solution for that part.
thatās cool (regarding checkboxes), I was also trying frames (the tea frame e.g.) :)

maybe something more visual since the last one was a bit more meta and text heavy?
Tomorrow would be great for me in any format to discuss.
actually I think our sister church has the same kit, except they use an acoustic snare :)
I feel like the community on Kinopio is mostly just us two, for the more public aspects at least, but if we can figure out an idea and wrangle in a few others we could post to The Outerweb and The Yesterweb.
If you have an idea how they work or know someone well enough to flash it to them to see if it would be worth me asking my friend to clean it up and make it crisp, that would be awesome.
I can also jam here throughout the day today on it.
Yeah, thatās why I liked the garden idea. Maybe we save that though since it just happened in the fig jam that was mentioned in Discord...
Yeah, at least 2 is better than 1:) happy to have someone else enthused about Kinopio to jam with. Would be cool to get more people involved. Like that FL magicā¦
No pressure at all if youād prefer not to bug them with this.
Yeah, instead of opening it in Edit mode, itād be nice if it just highlighted the card either like the todo filter, where other cards become transparent, or like it were selected with the marker.
Also, you mentioned your note-taking for meetings and planning/outlining papers in the forum. Im really interested to learn how you go about that process in terms of structure as you free write.

I will do that for sure. I know the founders and have a good relationship with them ;)
Stemming from the garden the two things that came to mind were āBuild Your Ideal Cityā could be cool to see people bring in pictures of architecture, parks, etc. but also gives freedom to write about parts of cities you enjoy too.
When I was taking meeting notes for the first time in Kinopio throughout the day yesterday, I found myself fiddling trying to create sudo-outline formats to visually show āthis note fits under this other note,ā which felt distracting at times.
Your week spaces (21.W42) looks super interesting. How long have you been doing them and what kind of stuff are you putting in there?
So a) Iām curious what your process is as you do both those things and b) with the Stack feature thatās been discussed a bit, I wonder if it would be possible to indent cards within the stack to have that outline view.

screenshot of a team retrospective I did using Kinopio
Dig the 2022 calendar too. Curious why the circle and what kind of things you plan on using it for.
Yeah the resolving naturally part is a note I actually just put on FL haha.
the way it usually goes for me is, I write down notes as I hear them, and then in the gaps/lulls of the conversation/presentation, I might try to organize and create hierarchy. or connect related things. I try not to sweat it.
From here I thought of just building a Sky, like the FL journal, people could bring in pictures of the sky, clouds, birds, gifs, animations, sounds, etc. could go as abstract as you wanted like a poem about the sky. Would be cool to have a space just covered in clouds.
I think itād be super useful for the way I take meeting notes and plan things to start that way as a frictionless visual and then later blow it up and move things around, but at least Iād have that starting point without having to fiddle to indicate children notes...
Just did a big zoom out for the first time on this space. WILD.
Love the name formatting too.
why do you feel like you need to fiddle?
This is really neat.
saw your note https://roamresearch.com/#/app/Variably_Distressed/page/07-07-2021 slightly disappointed but not surprised ā Kinopio is not really built for jotting thoughts down quickly in some contexts, which is ironic. but I totally get it, Iāve tried myself.
outliners are nice sometimes because they rigidly enforce a structure. sometimes I wish Kinopio had that structure ĀÆ\_(ć)_/ĀÆ
And itās just abstract.
But this is super helpful, thanks!
what do you like about the stack feature?
Let me know if any of this makes sense to you or if I sound crazy. Would still love to learn how you use it today either way.
Might have my buddy work on it anyways and see what they think. Thanks again!
Thinking of experimenting with Kinopio for it.
IDK if youāre familiar with Robin Sloan, but his newsletter is basically a link to his site where he actually hosts the newsletter.
Bored so I thought Iād just bounce back here, if you ever get tired of my rambling, just tell me to shut up, wonāt offend me at all.
thanks for continuing to push Kinopio, itās great to see
youāre more than welcome to be āthat guy,ā especially when that guy is experimenting with kinopio. but seriously, no shame in self-promo :)
how often do you use the Tags dialog at the bottom?
Thinking itād be cool to do something similar and have a Kinopio space actually be the newsletter.
how often do you use the Links dialog at the bottom?
Iām a pretty rigid // structure oriented person. Which probably makes Kinopio not the best tool to achieve some of the goals I want.
I hadnāt really heard of him until I noted you fanboied over him being in the outer web ;)
When I freewrite for notes or brainstorming, the outline format just feels so perfect to me, because I can easily tab over and have children notes and shift + tab to start a new segment. And the hierarchry and structure is baked in.
Iām definitely down with continuing this and seeing how far we can take it.
Yeah, I want to find a way to use Kinopio that is functional and fits with my mental model of how I work.
The idea just came to me, so still thinking some of it through, but figured it might peak your interest and be something to brainstorm around.
Coming back to the outliner, you mentioned smarts to export a space in an outliner format, and that would be so cool. Again Iām worried about being able to figure out how to get scripts running.
But I love everything else you can do and the way you can build your own structure freely is killer. Itās just the live in-the-moment notes that I miss the structure because my focus is on getting things down on paper.
I think itād be dope. Like you know, creating a space is very much a work of art.
With Stacks in Kinopio, the way they were displayed in gives a lot of that structure that I feel like I could come in and jot notes.
The bonus there too is there can be a collaborative aspect too.
I havenāt used them very often. Theyāve always felt like second class citizens on the bottom to me so I never focused on linking/tagging. Iām making a conscious effort to use them more lately to get a better feeling for how they fit in a potential system I could built out.
Oh yeah, I didnāt mean stopping at all. Just felt like Iāve been rambling a lot lately is all.
What would make them absolutely killer is to be able to tab & shift+tab and have it like a mini outline so I can freewrite without thinking about the structure.
The Daily Notes just werenāt it.
When I work in Kinopio, the joy is making it almost into a piece of art, in a sense, pulling in images, gifs, finding connections.
I think a lot of the usefulness of Tag // Link references (for me) comes when you arenāt necessarily looking for something. With Kinopio, you have to intentionally look.
But then I could blow it out later when thinking about how those specific notes fit projects in a broader sense.
And am not sure how easy it would be to get an accurate outline from a space.
But Daily Notes are mostly pretty fleeting that I donāt want to put in the effort required to really build out a days notes.
To the reason why I feel like I have to fiddle taking meeting notes in Kinopio - I guess I could just keep hitting ENTER and let the cards fall down, but for me, a lot of the context is in how those cards fit together and if I wait too long, I can lose it...
I doubt this use-case would be widespread so itās not something Iām holding my breathe for.
I think a weekly wrap//summary//review might be something I try out. That way I have this āthingā I can look back on that represents a week and would be okay putting some extra effort into.
I feel like maybe if one used a different interface to write daily notes, and then sync them to Kinopio. That would be interesting. I agree itās not great for creating an outline/list quickly. I want both, the fluidity and spatialness to play with blocks, but the density and structure of a ādocā
+1 šļøā¤ļøš§Ø
Iām very shorthand with my notes and I rely on the structure to be part of that shorthand to give the context around them.
And with the card format, I guess I just donāt like the idea of having thirty cards going straight down in a line with no visual indication of relationships.
Thereās also the āwhat software am I using now that I have an outlinerā problem.
Can you clarify? Are you missing a ādonātā in there?
No... I guess my question is how does it spit it out and how can I manipulate it after the fact.
Which Stacks by themselves wouldnāt solve either, but being able to indent and have children in Stacks would...
Did you try using Kinopio for morning pages this morning? :)
I used Kinopio as a weekly planner for a few weeks...
Iām rambling at this point... apologies...
A way to send individual Roam pages to Kinopio and then also Kinopio to Roam would be amazing.
Still thinking through though..
It can be any format. Donāt worry about getting scripts to run, that is np.
Is it just in markdown, or can I take it to something like Workflowy or Dynalist?
Do you have a desired workflow? If itās one way (kinopio ā¤ outliner), I can help do that translation.
Just got around to it now. Word count worked like a charm.

This is something Iām considering, but more like
Thatās a good question. I donāt know yet where Iād want my outlines (if I give up Roam) so yeah, as long as itās in an outline format that I can copy and paste into other tools thatās all Iād need.
Do you use mymind?
:) fascinating. Iām on their mailing list. Your last sentence surprised me (āBut I love it.ā)
Interested to see what
I think Iām still leaning towards a potential Pagi on iPad. Having something dedicated with thoughtfulness around doing just morning pages kind of pulls me in....
Kind of setting up a weekly format that I move things around, but am always in the same space every week, deleting and adding whatās needed.
I do. Itās probably overpriced and I donāt know Iāve extracted much value out of it to this point. But I love it.
Didnāt have a great idea fleshed out as I was thinking it through live and he grabbed a bit before my path shifted.
makes senseā¦;)
Still love the idea of a Tag Space, but itās the persistent view of places a tag lives that is the critical piece for me.
Whatās the secret sauce? What do you love about it? It seems pretty opinionated and vibe, which I generally like.
Iām very interested too. I wanted to digest his and your posts more, but my general sense is that having a persistent tag dialog would be more elegant.
